We're mad about beer!
Mad Jack's Mountain Brewery (MJMB) is located in Bailey, Colorado and was formed in 2010 and opened its doors June 2016, to become a lifelong dream for Jack and Allison (owners). After living 3 years in Germany, they ate and drank their way across Europe and were inspired by the excellent German Beers and Beer Gardens.
Since 2001, Jack and Allison have made their home in the 285 corridor, which hosts a series of quiet bedroom communities from Denver to Fairplay that are growing with the numerous popular tourist activities that the mountain area has to offer.
MJMB provides a product unique to the 285 corridor that could only be found in this area. We have developed recipes over the years that will delight discerning beer drinkers from Denver and the Front Range communities.
How it started
With Allison & Jack Hansell
Jack and Allison have been married since 1982 and have 3 sons: Nathan, Nolan, and Nick, along with two daughter-in-laws Lauren & Hayden and 2 grandkids Wesley and Joelle. Jack is retired from Molson Coors.
During his 15 years with Molson Coors, Jack learned a great deal about the beer industry both domestically and internationally and earned his General Certificate in Brewing and Packaging through the Coors Brewery Institute and the International Brewers and Distillers Guild. He held key leadership positions in manufacturing, quality, distribution, packaging, and supply chain.
Jack holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Rutgers University, NJ ('82). He is a Veteran of the US Army having served 11 years as a Combat Engineer Officer.
Allison has held numerous Director level positions with local and national non-profit organizations such as March of Dimes, American Red Cross, and United Way. Additionally, she has served as an office manager for various doctors and lawyers.
